Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day (and BIKE BUS!) — Wednesday, October 2nd

Riverfield's Walk, Bike & Roll to School day will take place on Wednesday, October 2nd. This year we have something special planned that will allow far more students to participate in the event…our first ever Riverfield Bike Bus!

Riders will meet at the Fairfield Public Library on Post Road at 8:15am. As a group, students and parent volunteers will follow a bike route up Unquowa and Mill Plain along with a Police escort (and special guest, Mr. Nealy!) If you live along the route, you can link up with the Bike Bus at any point by joining the back of the pack.

A Bike Bus is when adult chaperones lead a bike route — taking kids to school in a group — similar to a bus route. The bike bus is a fun, community-centered way to support and encourage our children to bicycle to school, giving them the experience of cycling on roads, with the safety of being directed by adults and surrounded by others cycling. Please sign up here. Learn the route and how you can prepare for the ride by reading our letter to all participants. We're excited to see you there!

However you decide to travel to school, be ready for a fun, active trip and grab a sticker when you arrive to show your accomplishment. Students who ride the bus will still have the opportunity to take a walk around the school when they disembark so they, too, can take part in the event and grab a sticker.

If you’re biking or rolling, don’t forget your helmet! Let's fill up those bike racks, Riverfield!
