Math Morning 3-5
Description
IMPORTANT REMINDERS ABOUT APRIL 8 MATH MORNING
At Math Morning, your students will teach you a variety of simple math games designed to support and boost fact fluency that you can play anywhere with just a deck of cards! Please bring in a deck of cards if you have one. Extra decks will be on hand if needed.
On Wednesday, April 8:
- Sign-in will begin 30 minutes before the events:
- K-2 Math Morning is at 9:30 AM - sign-in begins at 9:00 AM
- 3-5 Math Morning is at 10:15 AM - sign-in begins at 9:45 AM
- All visitors who sign in early will wait in the APR until the start time of the event.
- Teachers and staff will be going through their arrival procedures and preparing for visitors. Please DO NOT go directly to your students’ classrooms when you arrive.
Raptor will be used to sign-in all parents/caregivers/visitors for our event on Wednesday, April 8.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND TAKE ALL REQUIRED STEPS BEFORE WEDNESDAY
To ensure you don’t miss the 30-minute window of math games with your student . . .
PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING BEFORE APRIL 8:
- RSVP by clicking on this link: Riverfield 2026 Math Morning
- Download the Raptor app to your phone
- Register for the Math Morning event using the QR code provided on 3/27.
- Add the Math Morning event ticket to your Raptor app
PLEASE NOTE:
- Directions for Raptor can be found here: RaptorEventSafe_RegisterCheckIn_ForVisitors
- A hard copy of the QR code and reminders of the tasks will be sent home in students’ backpacks.
- The office team is available at any time to talk parents/caregivers through the process if needed. Just call (203-255-8328) or stop by.
- There will be an "express lane" set up for anyone who has both downloaded the QR code AND added the event to the app.
- Doing it on the app verifies you ahead of time and saves time letting you just scan and go. (Think Disney Fast Pass!)
- Those who do not download the QR code AND add the event to the app in advance will need to wait in line to sign in with the Raptor iPad. This could delay visitors in arriving at classrooms and result in less time with students.
- If you do not add your ticket to the Raptor app, you will need an ID, even with a ticket.
- Due to space limitations in the classrooms we ask that you try to limit adults to one per student.
- If you are unable to attend the event yourself, please feel free to sign up another relative or close family friend to come in and play math games with your student.
- Make sure they RSVP, download the Raptor app, and upload their tickets!
- Families with multiple students in K-2 or 3-5, may bring an additional caregiver/loved one/special adult and/or contact students’ classroom teachers to work out a plan to visit both classrooms within the time frame.
- Please be sure all additional visitors also have taken the 4 steps above BEFORE APRIL 8.
- So you can be focused on your Riverfield students and to minimize opportunities for unexpected situations during the event, please make childcare arrangements for your younger, non-school-age children if you’re coming in for Math Morning with your student. We know this might be a challenge for some families and appreciate your efforts!
- If you do not have strong cell service at the school, SWITCH TO THE SCHOOL Wi-Fi ASAP WHEN YOU ARRIVE. Use the QR code posted outside the main entrance to access the Wi-Fi.
