🎭 Calling all 4th and 5th Grade Thespians! 🎭
We’re so excited to announce this year’s spring musical…
🍫 WILLY WONKA JR! 🍭
Based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Willy Wonka Jr. brings all your favorite characters to life, along with many of the songs you know and love—and some brand-new songs written just for the show!
There are lots of opportunities for lead roles and tons of fun ensemble parts, so there’s a place for everyone.
A few commonly asked questions…
📅 When is the show?
Performances will be April 6th (in-school), 7th, 8th & 9th.
🌴 What if my family is going away early for spring break?
If your child is involved in the musical, they’ll need to be available for all performances and all rehearsals during Tech Week, which is the week before the show.
🎭 When are rehearsals?
Rehearsals will be every Thursday from 3:30–5:30 PM at school.
🎤 When are auditions?
Auditions will be held on two afternoons after school during the first week of November. Specific dates will be announced in the next few weeks. The auditions will be very brief (you will have the opportunity to sign up for a 5 minute slot on one of the dates). There will be a third date for callbacks.
🏀 What if my child has other activities?
We know kids are busy! But being part of the musical is a commitment, and we expect students to attend all rehearsals unless they’re sick or there are extenuating circumstances. Since we only rehearse once a week, every rehearsal really counts!
🎶 What should my child prepare for the audition?
Just have your child choose any song they feel comfortable singing. It does not need to be memorized—they’re welcome to hold the words. We’re simply looking to get a feel for each child’s voice and personality!
❤️ What if my child is nervous about auditioning?
We promise to make the audition process as relaxed and low-pressure as possible! If your child is nervous about singing in front of people, they can simply come in, say hello, and chat with us. We want everyone to feel comfortable and have fun!
We can’t wait to get started and see all of our
talented 4th and 5th graders at auditions!
